Tolling

CLEM7 will have a state-of-the-art tolling system that will enable motorists to travel the 6.8km journey without having to stop or slow down to pay the toll.
When motorists use the tunnel their trip will be identified via an electronic tag fitted inside their vehicle or by taking a photograph of their licence plate number.
The toll to use the CLEM7 is the lowest per kilometre compared with other similar tunnels in Australia. The toll for individual motorists to use the CLEM7 will depend on the type of vehicle they are driving.
The table below outlines the four vehicle types and the associated toll for using the tunnel. Tolls are increased from 1 January each year in line with Brisbane CPI.

Vehicle

Toll ($2008)

Motorcycle $1.99
Car $3.98
Light Commercial Vehicle - load carrying vehicle with a gross vehicle mass greater than 1.5 tonnes, but not exceeding 4.5 tonnes $5.96
Heavy Commercial Vehicle - all vehicles with a gross vehicle mass greater than 4.5 tonnes $10.53

When the toll road opens in 2010, motorists will have a number of easy payment options, whether they are frequent or occasional users.
