Where It Is

Brisbane is a rapidly expanding city of more than 1 million people. It is also one of the most decentralised capital cities in Australia with major residential areas, industrial areas, shopping and retail centres located on both sides of the Brisbane River.

CLEM7 provides a critical river crossing that will link Brisbane’s growing northern and southern suburbs, with direct connections at Bowen Hills, Kangaroo Point and Woolloongabba.

Major destinations north of the Brisbane River including the Brisbane Airport, Australia Trade Coast Development, Chermside Shopping Centre, Herston Hospitals Complex and Brisbane Exhibition Grounds.

Princes Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane Cricket Ground (The Gabba), Garden City Shopping Centre, growing industrial and technology parks at Archerfield and Eight Miles Plains, and the Brisbane Markets are some of the major destinations south of the river.

Major high density apartments, educational institutions and health care facilities are located close to the tunnel’s eastern suburbs connection at Kangaroo Point.

CLEM7 also lies at the heart of major urban development in Brisbane that will revitalise suburbs such as Woolloongabba and Bowen Hills. Urban renewal in these inner city areas is expected to include commercial office and retail developments, high density apartments, restaurants, galleries, cafes and hotels.
